The role is primarily responsible for handling a variety of moderately complex assigned legal matters in Peru, under general supervision.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provides legal assistance to senior lawyers in the department and legal advice to business partners within the company, while coordinating with outside counsel. 
  • Generally, supports a business area/sub region or in a special area of the law.
  • Develops organizational policies.
  • Researches and analyzes the law on moderately complex issues.
  • Under supervision, negotiates contracts, agreements and other legal documents that financially commit or otherwise bind the company.
  • May assist legal counsel in investigating and resolving complaints, disputes, at hearings and trials, as necessary.
  • This position is also responsible for addressing any inquiries or requirements related to the local license to operate in the country.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law and at least 3 years of experience in a recognized law firm or corporate legal department primarily supporting international corporate clients.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks and multiple business issues based on their stated priorities is critical for the position.
  • Negotiation skills and detail oriented.
  • Microsoft Package understanding
  • Good written and verbal English.
