Description

The LVN will work collaboratively with providers and staff to provide and manage patient care utilizing critical thinking and the nursing process. Responsible for performing nursing services requiring technical and manual skills under the direction of the Physician, Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


• Assist providers with examinations and other nursing procedures.

• Perform exams and administer treatment to patients.

• Collect and label laboratory specimens in accordance with laws and policies.

• Collect and interpret patient information.

• Maintain complete and accurate patient records.

• Data entry thru EHR.

• Strictly adherence to universal precautions as established by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and clinic standards.

• Assist providers with examinations and other procedures relating to direct patient care.

• Dress wounds.

• Administer medications.

• Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • 1 year experience as an LVN preferred. New Graduates will be considered.
  • At least 1 year experience as an LVN in a clinic setting.
  • Working knowledge of direct patient care methods and practices.
  • 80/20 On-site Support at clients' sites within 30 miles of Downtown San Diego
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, strong organization skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Fluent in Spanish/English preferred.


Education, Licenses/Certification 


• Current and valid California LVN license required

• Current BLS or CPR certification


Experience


Medical terminology.  New Graduates or 1 year experience preferred.  Occupational health and/or Workers Compensation experience preferred.

The base salary is determined on the candidate's education, qualifications, and experience, and is subject to change based on various internal and external factors.
