As a New Patient Scheduler, you will coordinate patient appointments, obtain medical records from outside our network, and perform other key administrative tasks — all to ensure a smooth and positive experience for every patient.
Responsibilities:
- Register new patients
- Answer patient questions and provide assistance and directions when necessary
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient records
- Work with providers/management to accommodate patients timely
- Maintain provider new patient blocks
- Send new patient paperwork to all new patients
- Scan/upload new patient charts upon scheduling
- Manage new patients scheduling, rescheduling, cancellations, and no -show appointments appropriately as advised by providers
- Obtain outside records for all new patients while working with outside doctors/hospitals when necessary
Requirements
Education/Experience:
- Must have customer service experience in an office, preferably with patients
- Successful completion of an accredited medical office assistant education program; or
- High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time clinical or administrative health care experience; or
- High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of six (6) months of full-time RPCI Oncology, PC clinical or administrative health care experience.
