We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Technician to oversee and support our Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) contract manufacturing partners. This role bridges hands-on product technical support with supplier quality and production coordination. You will ensure that our EMS partners meet product quality, delivery, and process standards, and support the smooth execution of postponement and manufacturing builds from start to finish.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. EMS Partner Management

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned EMS contract manufacturers.
  • Coordinate production schedules, material readiness, and build priorities with EMS partners.
  • Monitor manufacturing and repair progress and proactively resolve bottlenecks or technical issues.
  • Participate in regular vendor reviews to address performance, yield, and process improvements.

2. Technical Support & Quality Control

  • Provide on-site or remote technical support to resolve assembly, testing, or troubleshooting issues.
  • Review and validate EMS test procedures, inspection criteria, and process documentation.
  • Conduct incoming inspection of first article builds and evaluate compliance to specifications.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for any product returns

3. Process & Documentation Management

  • Ensure EMS partners have the latest engineering drawings, BOMs, work instructions, and ECO updates.
  • Assist in implementing process changes or new manufacturing methods to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate build records, test data, and supplier communication logs.

4. Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure EMS partners follow relevant safety, ESD, and quality standards.
  • Verify compliance with company quality policies.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience in electronics manufacturing, preferably in an EMS or OEM environment is highly preferred

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of assembly and test methodologies
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Strong communication skills for effective supplier engagement.
  • Able to work independently and travel occasionally to EMS sites.

  • On-time delivery performance from EMS partners.
  • Speed and effectiveness of technical diagnosis and root cause analysis.
  • Compliance with quality and process documentation requirements.
