JOB SUMMARY: This position supports credit origination and risk management activities for the Bank. Will be responsible for driving accuracy and completeness of credit underwriting functions within the SBLS.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent combination of coursework and commercial credit experience.
Experience:
- Typically requires 3+ years of commercial credit experience including underwriting of C&I loans and commercial real estate loans.
- Have knowledge of banking regulations, credit analysis functions, bank products, credit policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide complete, timely, and accurate underwriting and credit analysis on credit requests submitted to the SBLS.
- May participate in joint client calls with Relationship Managers to assist in screening credit requests.
- Ability to manage and prioritize a loan pipeline
- Ability to close a loan including but not limited to, order supporting loan documentation, prepare loan doc requests, review, understand and explain loan documentation, verify collateral perfection, and any other post-closing duties.
- Ensure digital loan files are updated, organized and complete
- Be knowledgeable of bank compliance rules and adhere to Federal and State banking regulations relating to this position
- Follow all Bank compliance policies and procedures relating to this position
- Othe duties as assigned to meet client and operational needs

- Work is performed indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs., if necessary
SKILLS:
- In-depth understanding and ability to interpret accounting literature, regulations, practice and theory, as well as ability to apply this knowledge to day-to-day activities
- Requires proactive problem-solving skills with an ability to anticipate obstacles and quickly generate alternate solutions/ideas.
- Strong knowledge of Sageworks and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
- Ability to work hours required to fulfill job expectations
- Understanding of loan origination, processing and closing duties
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills. Capable of prioritizing workflow.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently and within deadlines.
- Ability to handle stress and heavy workflow
- Requires knowledge of the current regulatory environment.
- Requires adherence to the Bank's risk management policies and programs.
- Recognizes and proactively addresses risk associated with Bank Secrecy Act, anti-money laundering, consumer compliance, fair lending, fiduciary responsibilities, privacy and electronic banking.
RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports to the Credit Administration Officer for the fulfillment of functions and responsibilities.
- Works with Chief Lending Officer, Market Team Leaders, Relationship Managers, Loan Support staff, Compliance Officer and accounting department.
