Job Description
The scheduler is a critical role for our supply chain based in Newport, Melbourne. In this role, you are accountable for the daily coordination of driver and fleet resources across a range of geographies. This dynamic role includes all aspects of scheduling including stock managing of customer sites, Fleet coordination, driver management and customer interaction.
Aligned with the customers we serve this role is not your usual Monday to Friday. The role will be one of 2 scheduling roles which will cover 7 days per week on a planned roster offering a great balance of time away from work.
Key tasks include:
- Ensuring Fleet operations are conducted in alignment with company and Industry HSSE expectations.
- Driver and Fleet Resource planning
- Collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders on schedules
- High internal communication, liaising directly with drivers, customer and depot staff regular updates and feedback to our customer and internal stakeholders
- Delivering Value to the business through the optimising of fleet schedules and use of resources
- Problem solving, thinking outside the square and providing potential solutions to aid and close unplanned schedule or truck availability changes.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will be:
- A problem solver! Be able to work with key stakeholders to trouble shoot in real time
- Well organised and proactive, enabling you to plan and build efficient daily delivery schedules for our fleet across the Victorian and Southern NSW network, along with the provision of support for other areas where required (particularly over weekends
- A strong communicator, you will be able to deal with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, understand their requirements and the capability of our fleet and drivers.
- Decisive and Able to work under pressure and to deadlines, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Up for a challenge and keen to be part of a successful team
Knowledge in the following would be advantageous:
- Working understanding of relevant HSSE requirements (ideally in Dangerous Goods, Chain of Responsibility & Fatigue Laws)
- Experience in road transport operations including resource management, scheduling of high volume goods & services
- Proven experience using ERP’s / Scheduling systems
- Experience in demanding customer focused roles.
