The Opportunity 

As Senior Manager of Metering Business Development, you'll lead a newly formed, high-performing commercial team responsible for driving EDF’s Electricity Metering P&L and securing over £25m in annual revenue – with clear ambitions for future growth. 

You’ll define and execute commercial strategy, shape the future of our metering product portfolio, lead structured and transactional sales efforts, manage critical industry partnerships, and secure supply continuity through effective procurement. 

This is a strategic leadership opportunity. You’ll directly influence commercial success, drive innovation, and create lasting impact as a key member of the Core Services & Metering leadership team.

What you’ll be doing 

You will drive business and revenue growth in this metering scaleup by identifying & pursuing new opportunities and maintaining the existing book & product suite. The role mixes strategic thinking, relationship management and business development – meaning you’ll have an opinion about the long term whilst getting stuff done in the here & now. As a business within a wider group, you will own and deliver the business’ P&L securing over £25 million in annual revenue while defining and executing a commercial strategy that aligns with EDF’s broader objectives. 

You will lead a fast growing team of c20 professionals across strategy, sales, procurement, and partnerships. You’ll drive business growth through structured deals and the pursuit of new market opportunities. A key part of your remit will be to create a consistently high performing team, build an extensive network and innovate at pace. 

 

Who you are 

We’re looking for a commercial leader who brings a powerful blend of strategic insight, operational delivery, and inspirational people leadership. You’ll have proven experience leading high-performing commercial teams, with a passion for developing talent and fostering a culture of empowerment and collaboration. Exceptional communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills are essential.  

Commercially, you’ll demonstrate strong financial acumen and a successful track record in driving sales and business development within complex or regulated environments, ideally within a scaleup environment. A deep understanding of the UK business energy metering market is highly desirable.  

Analytically, you’ll be confident managing budgets, forecasting revenue, and delivering against key performance indicators. You’ll also bring a sharp attention to detail, the ability to interpret contracts and regulations effectively, and a mindset geared towards innovation and strategic thinking.
