Job Position Summary: Responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day quality department as well as the planning, engineering, coordination and implementation of all quality systems and quality audits.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in Aerospace industry.
- Audit experience in ISO 9001/AS9100.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, specifications, drawings and governmental regulations.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong planning, organizational, and project management traits.
- Strong root cause / corrective action skills.
- Strong understanding of 6S.
- Time-management and organization skills
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
- Prior supervisory or management experience.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of employees in continuous improvement activities.
- Ability to manage projects and get them done in a timely manner.
- Ability to adapt to business needs.
- Strong communication skills to convey information and provide instruction to the team.
- Ability to work well with other employees.
- Ability to identify areas for improvement and think strategically to enhance efficiency.
- Full understanding of the manufacturing processes.
- Proficient Computer Skills including Microsoft Office.
- Understands safety regulation and procedures.
- Required to pass annual eye exam by licensed optometrist.
- Required to pass the Certified Operator Program and maintain certification status. (Tell Only)
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to safety regulation and standard. Follow safety culture and wear PPE when required.
- Develops and maintains an effective quality organization through the hire selection, performance management, discipline, training, and motivation.
- Recommends or initiates personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, discharges, attendance, and disciplinary measures.
- Directly supervises employees to include payroll, overtime hours, and PTO.
- Manage and continuously improve the Quality Management System at the site level.
- Act as facility representative for all AS9100 audit activities.
- Manage the MRB (Material Review Board) activities for the disposition of nonconforming products.
- Maintain procedures relevant to the Quality Management System.
- Interact with customers and/or suppliers for quality issue resolution.
- Work with Engineering and Operations to ensure smooth roll-out of new products.
- Report quality metrics to upper management.
- Assists in developing training to build quality awareness.
Working Conditions:
- Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.
- May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.
- May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required.
- Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
