Coordinates activities and functions of the Interventional Pulmonary program in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine to ensure that goals and objectives specified for the program are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications.  Multiple campuses are seen by the Interventional Pulmonary group within the UMMS/FPI system, therefore this position is instrumental in a multi-campus strategy for the best patient care and access.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and recommends new or revised program goals and objectives.
  • Develops and schedules program work plan in accordance with specifications and funding limitations; oversees daily operations and coordinates activities of program; determines priorities.
  • Confers with and advises clinical staff, and others to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance, answers to questions and program goals and policy interpretation; refers to appropriate department person when unable to respond.
  • Coordinates activities of the IP program with inter-related activities of other programs, departments or staff across multiple campuses to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications.

Department Essential Functions

  • Scheduling of Appointments and Procedures (inclusive of Bronchoscopy and CT) at all relevant UM campuses.
  • Reconcile and Review all Lab and applicable testing prior to scheduling with IP physicians for the best new patient experience
  • Obtain and ensure proper revenue cycle optimization by receiving Prior Authorizations for all applicable procedures
  • .Work on Bronchoscopy Referral Meeting and prepare Worklist for providers each week to ensure all surgical schedulers and providers are optimized.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  •       Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university or related field preferred
  •       Two years administrative/coordinator program experience; or 5 years of progressively responsible administrative/coordinator program experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.  

Total Rewards
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
