Summary Description:

The Senior Accountant, Finance (Internal Controls) role is a challenging position that balances Accounting along with Internal Controls & Compliance. This position is responsible for the execution of all accounting, finance, and reporting functions for the Company’s majority-owned Joint Venture. Additionally, this role assists with the Company’s Controls and Compliance program, including a SOX 404 implementation, and serves as a liaison with internal and external auditors for the North American Business Unit. This role works closely with other departments like Accounting, Finance, Operations, Procurement and FP&A, as well as external contacts such as consultants and auditors. This position reports to the North America Finance and Controls Manager and is based in Tampa, FL.

Essential Functions:

 Joint Venture Accounting and Finance:

• Liaise with joint venture partners to perform all accounting and finance functions of Company’s Joint Venture including monthly journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, analysis, board presentations, and treasury functions.
• Financial planning and analysis, including result development, forecasts and annual budget.
• Preparation of annual financial statements along with audit schedules for external auditors.

Controls and Compliance:

• Assist with the North American Business Unit’s SOX 404 implementation and subsequent administration.
• Lead monthly and quarterly entity level controls execution including quarterly management representation certificates and risk-based journal entry review.
• Review and approve SAP Segregation of Duties (SOD) requests and conflicts.
• Proactively and collaboratively identify and implement improvement opportunities within the business process and control owners.
• Train and educate business process and control owners to safeguard internal control compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Strong accounting and analytical skills
• Proficient in Excel and Word
• Experience retrieving and analyzing large datasets.
• Knowledge and understanding of SOX requirements and business process controls
• Organized and detail oriented, adaptable to change.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
• Experience with SAP and Business Warehouse (BW) preferred

Education and Experience:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field.
• Certified Public Accountant designation or candidate preferred.
• 2 to 5 years relevant work experience in public accounting or industry
