The Field IT Supervisor will work with all local, district and corporate managers and coordinate with the corporate and local members of the IT Infrastructure and Support team, to ensure proper IT support levels for all car wash operations.
On-Site Technology Support:
- Oversee the proper functioning and maintenance of all car wash technology equipment and systems across designated sites.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and address hardware, software, and other network and system issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the centralized IT team and the POS system vedors for any escalated issues, ensuring seamless communication.
Team Leadership:
- Train and mentor on-site IT technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities, ensuring even distribution of workload among team members.
- Conduct periodic team meetings to discuss challenges, successes, and areas of improvement.
Vendor Engagement:
- Collaborate with POS system vendors for routine maintenance, system updates, and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding equipment warranties, replacements, and potential upgrades.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain meticulous records of all on-site activities, including incidents, resolutions, and preventative measures.
- Report to the IT Operations Manager, providing updates on site statuses, challenges faced, and suggestions for improvements.
Inventory Management:
- Ensure that all sites are adequately equipped with the necessary IT hardware and spare components.
- Keep track of equipment lifecycles, planning timely replacements or upgrades.
- Facilitate the procurement process for new equipment when required.
Compliance & Safety:
- Uphold all company safety standards and protocols within the domain of IT.
- Ensure all IT activities adhere to industry-specific regulations and best practices.
Education and Experience
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Administration, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of IT field support or multi-site technical operations experience, with at least 1–2 years in a team lead or supervisory role.
- Knowledge of the car wash industry technology is a plus.
- Proficiency with POS systems and integrative tech solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, encompassing both hardware and software dimensions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Deep understanding of car wash technology, tunnel systems, and IT network architecture (VLANs, orchestrators, server/client structures)
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical control systems and related hardware/ software integration
- Strong familiarity with TCS server, workstation, and peripheral systems such as tablets, tunnel PCs, and greeters
- Effective team leadership and performance management capabilities
- Advanced troubleshooting, diagnostic, and system configuration skills
- Strong verbal and written communication with ability to clearly document processes and communicate technical concepts to varied audiences
- Project coordination and planning, including time management and prioritization of multiple ongoing tasks
- Ability to coach, train, and develop technicians across multiple skillsets
- Ability to work independently in the field while ensuring team accountability
- Ability to provide detailed and timely updates to cross-functional leaders including operations and IT
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to travel to car wash sites and work in varying environmental conditions (heat, humidity, outdoor exposure); travel is typically 75%
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment and tools
- Ability to stand, kneel, or crouch for extended periods while working on technical equipment
- Ability to use hands and power tools, test equipment, and computer systems for diagnostics and repair
