In this role, you'll:
Join the Project Finance (PF) team, within the Commercial Performance and Optimisation Branch of the Infrastructure Projects and Engineering (IPE) Division that drives excellence in how Transport for NSW (TfNSW) delivers its infrastructure and precinct projects.
The PF team acts as an internal centre of excellence, and provides high value leadership and advice on funding, financing and strategic matters across the IPE portfolio of projects. The PF Team supports IPE and the broader TfNSW by leading, driving and advising on diverse innovative high-profile, high-risk, infrastructure and precinct projects.
Reporting to the Director Structuring and Advice and supported by a team of Senior Managers, you will be leading the development and management of a range of PF initiatives, in partnership with executive and other senior stakeholders.
Some of your accountabilities will be to:
- Manage complex transaction processes, including financial modelling, coordination of end-to-end project lifecycle activities, and planning to support successful deal negotiation and execution.
- Oversee the development of robust financial analyses to support business case preparation and investment decision making.
- Provide expert guidance to project teams on commercial risk allocation between contractual parties, ensuring alignment with the chosen contractual framework.
This is a full-time Ongoing (Perm) Transport Senior Service Executive TSSE1A level role, offering an attractive remuneration package.

About you
We are looking for natural leaders to join our high performing team to drive various fit for purpose, innovative initiatives. As this role is both externally and internally facing, you will have experience in developing strong relationships at a senior level to drive commercial thinking and provide enhanced capability.
Key capabilities are:
- You bring in-depth experience being part of a complex transaction analysis and execution, including the development of financial models and / or legal documentation.
- You have demonstrated knowledge of corporate finance concepts, Private Public Partnerships (PPPs) or other contract forms appropriate for large transport capital and operational projects.
- You have the capability and experience in being a strong collaborator, adaptable, pro-active with a range of stakeholders and in challenging environments.
- You have a track record of strong stakeholder manager skills and building relationships across an organisation.
- As a good problem solver with progressive and forward-thinking attitude, you lead by example with the ability to drive change and to motivate team members.
