Head of IT Platforms & Capabilities - Emergency Care (Home-Based)
In late January we announced that Bridgefield Capital signed an agreement to acquire Philips’ Emergency Care business, which includes leading brands and products like HeartStart AEDs, Intrepid and DFM100 monitor defibrillators, Tempus monitor and Tempus ALS systems, and Corsium and ECI informatics solutions. We expect the transaction to close at the end of 2025. With Bridgefield’s support and building on our 40+ year legacy of growth and innovation in emergency medical technology, the Emergency Care business will continue passionately pursuing our mission of saving lives, lowering the cost of healthcare, and advancing the science of resuscitation while serving the public access AED, EMS, military, and hospital market segments.
In this role you will play an integral role as a strategic technology leader that will build, modernize and optimize business platforms to drive business transformation into a dynamic and rapidly growing medical technology company. This role will report to the Chief Information Officer of the company.
As the Head of IT Platforms & Capabilities, is the expert in developing and executing IT strategies that enhance capabilities, streamline operations, and enable scalability.
Your role:
Oversee a large-sized program with up to 12 Scrum teams in the Release Trains or manages service-heavy platforms/services for an entire domain, ensuring cohesive and efficient delivery.
Take responsibility for full end-to-end design, build, test, deploy, maintenance and operations activities of the platform in line with the first-time right quality, planned budget, resources and timelines, working effectively with partners, internal and external stakeholders.
Works closely with the Platform Lead to strategize, plan, execute, and deliver on Platform Objectives across tribes, fostering collaboration and alignment with organizational goals.
Develops and implements strategic direction and operational processes for data, insights and analytics services competence and capability across the IT platform, supporting the wider organization's objectives.
Drives and fulfills master data management needs on the IT platform, ensuring data quality, integrity, and accessibility are maintained to support accurate analytics and reporting, thereby enhancing decision-making capabilities across the organization.
Evaluates business opportunities and promotes the use of data, insights and analytics within the domain, building internal and external resources and expertise to enhance organizational capabilities.
Develop the roadmap for future IT platforms, capabilities, and automated solutions across all functions and regions – including local tools needed for specific regions.
Partner with regulatory, quality, and R&D teams to ensure compliance with FDA, EU MDR, GDPR, ISO 13485, and other standards through accurate and auditable data practices.
You're the right fit if:
Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
Minimum 8 years of experience in Solution Design and Architecture, DevOps Practices, IT Platforms Performance Optimization or equivalent.
Minimum 8 years of experience in Data, Insights & Analytics domain.
Certified SAFe Lean Portfolio Manager or Project Management Certification.
Your experience includes medical device or heath technology industries, including compliance with FDA, ISO, and other regulatory requirements.
Strong experience with digital transformation and change management initiatives.
Proven ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and presentation skills.
Leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams.
You thrive in cross-functional teams and are comfortable operating within a global, matrixed organization.
Vendor and contract management skills.
How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
