About the team and position

We’re looking for a high-energy Staff Accountant to join our team. Under the direction of the Sr. Tax Accountant, the Staff Accountant, Indirect Tax is responsible for data gathering, compilation and analysis of sales, use and property tax information and reconciling General Ledger accounts with the use of SQL and Microsoft Excel. This will be a position with full visibility into the business model and collaboration with other business units in the company. Most importantly, you will see your insights have an immediate, tangible impact every day in a well-funded company.

What you’ll be doing

Indirect tax compliance, including but not limited to multi-state sales and use tax filings.
Prepare tax files by compiling operational information derived from multiple data sources.
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliation for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Assist a third-party compliance provider for sales and use tax filings.
Research multi-state tax and registration issues.
Manage tax correspondence.
Prepare exemption certificates.
Act as a liaison between multiple departments to resolve tax-related issues.
Prepare ad-hoc reports and take on special projects as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

What you should know/have

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
1-3 years of relevant experience (experience in Indirect Tax, preferred).
Advanced Excel skills (VLookup, Pivot Tables, IF Formulas).
Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Attention to detail, strong analytical skills
Ability to shift focus between priorities as needed, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time with minimal supervision.
Ability to collaborate among multiple business units and communicate effectively.
