In your role as Facilities Mechanical Engineer with Micron’s Facilities Engineering (I&C/Gas/Chem) Team, you will provide consultation and support to Mechanical Operations, Maintenance, and Manufacturing as a Technical Discipline Subject Matter Expert. You will analyze system designs to identify improvements that will result in better performance, efficiency gains, reduced maintenance, and cost savings. Your role will support sites with problem analysis using standard tools and methodologies as requested. You will provide technical leadership and support to the Procurement group on vendor qualifications, Vendor Selection as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct risk and failure mode and effects analysis
  • Eliminate single points of failure and mitigate risk
  • Own and maintain site spec and SUD's
  • Maintain leading-edge applicable domain knowledge (to introduce new tech nodes to fab 6)
  • Design and Plan Systems and Buildings
  • Provide system designs for safe operations and maintenance
  • Recommend critical spare parts
  • Ensure designs comply with all applicable standards, codes, and regulations
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of capacity planning databases (with Base Build capacities, POC assignments, and actual field conditions)
  • Track system capacity relative to current measured loads and forecasted loads
  • Prepare periodic system status presentations (system capacity, actual load, and projected loads based on all approved scenarios, key system accomplishments, and challenges/issues)
  • Support manufacturing scenario planning according to the standard process
  • Evaluate system and distribution capacity impacts based on scenario changes
  • Provide scope for facilities infrastructure additions or modifications
  • Evaluate Space Planning for future equipment
  • Provide Project, Design, and Construction support
  • Provide detailed designs and specifications for the installation of new facilities infrastructure
  • Provide support for cost and schedule estimates and justification for project approval
  • Provide supervision and coordination of consultant resources
  • Ensure appropriate communication with facilities and manufacturing stakeholders
  • Be responsible for the review of design packages
  • Execute designs according to standard processes
  • Create Project Scope and ensure necessary input from appropriate stakeholders
  • Follow change management procedures
  • Work with appropriate personnel to address problems or make corrections
  • Perform system inspections per applicable code requirements and sign off on inspection report
  • Support equipment startup and commissioning
  • Ensure drawings are updated with completed project information according to the as-built procedure
  • Provide Technical Support, Leadership, and Expertise
  • Provide consultation and support to Operations and Maintenance and Manufacturing
  • Analyze systems to identify improvements that will result in better performance, efficiency gains, reduced maintenance, and cost savings
  • Perform problem analysis using standard tools and methodologies
  • Conduct risk and failure mode and effects analysis
  • Eliminate single points of failure and mitigate risk
  • Work with Manufacturing on excursion root cause identification, elimination, and prevention
  • Attend design review meetings and participate in reviews for design packages
  • Benchmark with other Micron sites on operational, procedural, engineering, and design BKM of Facilities buildings and systems

Safety

  • Follow all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Be an active participant in the EHSS program by reporting all EHSS-related concerns or problems immediately to the appropriate individual (ERT, Supervision, etc.)
  • Be proactive in reducing incidents of personal injuries, safety hazards, or environmental releases

Successful candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • Ability to use proven state of the art engineering and design technology and methods
  • Ability to design facilities buildings and systems efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions with customer involvement and understanding
  • Proven ability to meet minimum customer requirements and minimize the impact on current operations
  • Ability to maintain good customer relations
  • Ability to produce clear, clean, professional design documents/deliverables
  • Ability to provide all information and details to enable efficiency in construction and startup of the design
  • Ability to coordinate for on-time delivery
  • Organized management, storage, and retrieval of design documentation
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively 360°
  • Ability to quickly make decisions with data and logic to back up the decisions
