Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our Central Platform Team. Our mission is to define governance, build centralized services, and empower our product teams to efficiently build, deploy, and scale applications and analytics workloads in our GCP environment.

This role is ideal for someone who has delivered enterprise-scale cloud solutions, influenced multiple teams across an organization, and thrives in building secure, automated, and developer-friendly platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance and evolve our GCP landing zone (Project Factory) and governance framework to provide a robust foundation for all product teams.

• Design and develop central platform services that improve developer productivity and operational efficiency (e.g., BigQuery Quota Control, BigQuery Slot Reservations, Workload Identity Federation, Privileged Access Management, Patch Management).

• Build automation and self-service capabilities to reduce manual intervention and accelerate delivery.

• Provide advisory and consultancy to product teams, sharing best practices, reviewing designs, and influencing architecture decisions.

• Ensure security, scalability, and performance are integral to all platform solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure consistent standards, patterns, and practices across the organization.

Qualifications

Must-Have Skills:
 

• Proven expertise with Google Cloud Platform services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Run, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), BigQuery, Cloud DNS, IAM, and Shared VPC.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and deploying enterprise-scale landing zones on GCP, including foundational infrastructure, networking, security controls, and resource management.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Deployment Manager, or Cloud Deployment Manager for automated provisioning.
• Strong understanding of cloud governance, identity and access management, and compliance best practices.
• Experience setting up monitoring, logging, and alerting in GCP (e.g., Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Alerting Policies).
• Track record of delivering impactful solutions across multiple teams or projects within a large enterprise.
   

Nice-to-Have Skills:
 

• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of cost optimization strategies in GCP.
• Familiarity with multi-cloud environments.
