Position Summary

The Advisor proactively provides investment management and strategic asset allocation for clients under the Portfolio Advisory platform using the comprehensive suite of financial solutions and products approved by BSI. As part of the Products & Investments Team, contributes to IPB’s Investment Committees and increases the support to the sales force to ensure the maintenance of existing Advisory accounts as well as the growth of new accounts.

The Investment Advisor combines the technical skills of portfolio managers with the communication and selling skills of private bankers. This individual must have a depth of financial services experience, a flexibility of approach, and a capacity to represent a diverse range of technical investment products. The role requires a multi-product focus that incorporates equities, fixed income and foreign exchange products, derivatives, structured products and alternative investments.

The Advisor reports to the Director of Advisory.

Risk Objectives- Proactive identification of issues or concerns related to potential gaps in existing processes, procedures, policies, frameworks, etc.;
- Contribution to satisfactory results in audit reviews, compliance reviews, and regulatory examinations (internal/ external), Compliance and Regulatory Agency reviews; response to required corrective actions in a timely and complete manner;
- Completion of all assigned training (Compliance, Bank Secrecy Act, Audit, Code of Conduct, etc.) and reporting requirements within set timeframes; and
- Adherence to the Code of Conduct, assigned Risk Tolerance or Mandates and all organizational policies and procedures applicable to role.

• Provide investment expertise and investment ideas for the integrated team through the coverage and due diligence in the equity and fixed income markets (fundamental and technical analysis).
• Present, defend and participate in the definition of the Investment Strategy through an active participation in SPB’s Asset Allocation and Products working groups.20

• Understand client’s investment profile, current investment objectives and work with Banker to develop an investment plan and prepare recommendations of appropriate investment products. Ability to communicate these investment strategies to all levels of clients and prospects.
• Advise clients on strategic asset allocation and specific tactical solutions30

• Execute investment solutions in client accounts in accordance with client plans10

• Support the sales force to ensure the maintenance of existing Advisory accounts.
• Ensure the excellence and quality of service to clients in order to maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
• Participate in new marketing initiatives with banker and integrated team to gather new AUM under the platform and increase strategic product penetration.
• Maintain visibility with management, sales force and clients defending investment and products policy/strategy.  25

• Raise efficiency and margins through disciplined management, segmentation, and use of proprietary information technology business tools. To contribute to the evaluation, control and minimisation of risks within the Advisory Department activity. 15

Specialized Knowledge 

Senior experience within a specific discipline in financial services

Combination of buy and sell-side experience preferred

Understanding of asset allocation and portfolio construction as it applies to ultra-high-net-worth clients

Expertise in mathematics and technical applications with an ability to translate complex ideas into simple, practicable forms is necessary

Physical RequirementsDuties are performed in an office environment.  Physical demands could involve any or all of the following: digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in the operation of office equipment; light to moderate lifting (10-20 lbs.) and carrying of supplies, files, etc; the ability to speak to and hear customers and/or other employees both telephone calling and in person; and body motor skills sufficient to enable the incumbent to move from one office location to another.

What Else You Need To Know:

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

$90,000.00 USD

$160,000.00 USD
