PURPOSE:
We are looking for a Regulatory Affairs Associate, with a passion for regulatory, specialized on chocolates and biscuits. The Regulatory Affairs Associate's goal will be to provide regulatory affairs support to ensure Pladis products, processes, packaging and systems comply with applicable regulatory requirements and support overall business strategies. The position is accountable for providing technical input and expertise for development of food labels, NLEA information / panels, nutritional guidance, and facility compliance needs. Additionally, ensure compliance with site-related Food Safety / Quality Systems standards / schemes (e.g. FSSC 22000, ISO 9000, etc.) as related to the Regulatory Affairs function. The Regulatory Affairs Associate would participate on numerous cross-functional teams and act as a liaison/point person for the marketing team(s).
KEY RESONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES:
- Ensure regulatory compliance of Pladis products within the sales market regarding product formulation, pack copy generation and artwork sign-off, in line with pladis policies.
- Working closely with R&D and convert recipe details into pack copy information to appropriate legal formats in required language for intended sale markets.
- Understand the allergen matrices and apply accordingly to ensure a truthful information is being conveyed and the packs are labelled with the accurate allergen warnings, in aligned with the selling market requirements.
- Review and sign-off artwork designs against relevant pack copy for legal compliance for market.
- Participate / provide support in project meetings to ensure proactive regulatory strategies are executed and comply with defined project timelines.
- Assist Regulatory Manager with specific customer requests; regulatory research and compliance assessment requests.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Food Technology or related discipline
- 1 -5 years of experience in the food industry, primarily in regulatory affairs or regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of ingredients, process methods and factories producing biscuits and chocolate a plus.
- Demonstrated independent initiative, the ability to self-lead / direct but also a work as a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills – Good communication and influencing skills, proactive demeanor.
- Strong attention to details and an eye for accuracy / precision
- Demonstrated flexibility and agility
- High level of digital literacy & proficiency in using web-based specification systems.
- Strong analytical abilities coupled with practical application skills
