Auto Shop Mechanic

Summary

Responsible for repairing and maintaining the operation of all City vehicles.

Pay Range: (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on city vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair city vehicles.
• Order necessary parts as needed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly Fleet Shop.
• Complete work labor and task information.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
• 2 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
• Must own basic hand and air tools.
• Must obtain 1 ASE Certification within one year of hire.
• Valid Class A Texas Commercial Driver's License or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

The incumbent works in a fleet shop environment with occasional outside work. Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards.
