Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) is looking for a Data Governance Manager
Title: Data Governance Manager
Location: Lysaker
Type: Full-time
Are you ready to be the linchpin of our data-driven future?
At Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS), we know that data fuels our global operations, enables great customer experiences, and powers innovation. AI, analytics, and automation technologies are only as powerful as the data behind them.
While we’re already leveraging AI solutions and innovating with the data we have, we know the potential is far greater. That’s why we’re investing in a Data Governance Manager, a pivotal new role to lead the design and execution of a data governance framework that will transform how we manage data across our global business.
This isn’t just about policies, it’s about building clarity from complexity, building organizational maturity and fostering a company-wide culture that treats data as a strategic asset. You'll lead the charge in making data governance a practical, business-enabling capability. You’ll collaborate closely with talented teams across business and IT to embed governance into critical business processes and enterprise applications and you’ll be the strategic driver ensuring our data is accurate, accessible and compliant.
“Data is more than numbers—it’s the foundation of how we operate, serve our customers, and innovate at scale. This role is critical to unlocking the full potential of AI and automation across our global business.”
- Christian Løset, VP Enterprise Applications in Wilhelmsen Ships Service
If you’re passionate about shaping how data supports a global business and enables new technology solutions this is your opportunity. We’re looking for someone who can turn complexity into clarity, drive enterprise-wide alignment, and unlock the full potential of trusted high-quality data in collaboration with key stakeholders across the organization. If you want to join our team - we want to hear from you!

Establish clear data ownership and stewardship to ensure accountability
Facilitate and drive cross-functional data governance initiatives across the organization
Ensure governance best-practices are embedded into business processes, enterprise applications and data platforms in line with organizational maturity
Ensure compliance with GDPR and internal data privacy policies

Act as a thought leader to promote a data-first mindset, aligning stakeholders and drive maturity across the organization.
What You Bring
5+ years of experience in data governance, enterprise data management, or similar data roles
A solid grasp of master data, metadata and lifecycle management
Proven experience in leading cross-functional data initiatives
Experience working with complex global systems and enterprise platforms
A proactive, structured mindset with a focus on collaboration and enablement
