Writing Head NPI Engineer

Overview

Join our elite Writing Head Engineering team — a close-knit group of highly skilled professionals managing advanced electro-optic and mechanical assemblies across an annual manufacturing scope of millions of dollars. As a Writing Head NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineer, you will be instrumental in bridging R&D innovations with full-scale production readiness, ensuring seamless product transfer from concept to manufacturing maturity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the NPI process for cutting-edge electro-optic systems, ensuring successful transition from R&D to mass production.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D hardware teams to support early-stage product development and prototype validation.
  • Build, own, and manage comprehensive production files, including BOMs, work instructions, and configuration control.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production lines, both in-house and at external suppliers or turnkey manufacturers.
  • Support automated testing implementation and validation at subcontractor sites.
  • Accompany and support the construction of prototypes and first production builds.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for suppliers during NPI and early production stages.

Qualifications

  • Education: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Optics, or Mechatronics – mandatory.
  • Experience & Knowledge:
    • Hands-on knowledge of NPI processes and methodologies in mechanical and electro-optical systems.
    • Familiarity with engineering and production processes in PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) manufacturing.
    • Experience in root cause analysis for electronic systems and assembly-related issues.
    • Ability to interpret and work with mechanical drawings.
    • MCAD (Mechanical CAD) design experience – advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with a track record of meeting tight deadlines.
    • Independent, proactive, and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
    • Effective multitasking and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
    • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Languages:
    • Proficiency in Hebrew and Englishrequired.
    • Additional languages – an advantage.
