About the Role:

As the Operations Manager based in Rotterdam, you will play a pivotal role in building and leading the operational framework of our European branch. This position is key to ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, full compliance with local regulatory standards and market practices, and driving the branch’s growth and long-term success.

Responsibilities

 Key responsibilities will include:

Broker Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with local brokers, manage escalations, and lead quarterly review meetings.

Portfolio Oversight:

Monitor and manage the branch’s portfolio, including pipeline tracking and submission oversight.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure adherence to local regulatory requirements and market practices across all operational activities.

Project & Change Management:

Lead and support operational projects and change initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

Underwriting Support:

Provide timely assistance with urgent underwriting administration tasks as needed.

Month-End Process Support:

Contribute to the successful execution of month-end activities and reporting.

Operational Reporting:

Produce and maintain operational reports and performance metrics to support decision-making.

Service Level Management:

Manage Branch SLA reports—compile, distribute, and follow up on required actions.

Branch Manager Support:

Act as a key support to the Branch Manager, contributing to strategic and operational initiatives.

Cross-Functional Liaison:

Serve as the primary contact point for HR, Finance, and Technology departments, ensuring smooth coordination and communication

Skills & Experience

  • Solid understanding of underwriting and operational processes.
  • Familiarity with one or more insurance classes: Property, Accident & Health, Financial & Professional Liability, Casualty, Marine, Energy, Credit, and Political Risk.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Experience using document management and workflow systems.
  • Proven organizational and communication skills.
  • Analytical, logical, and resourceful approach to problem-solving.
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks and projects.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
