Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Payroll Administrator on a permanent, full-time contract.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with customer groups and an understanding of their work area.
- Respond to customers in a professional, timely, accurate, and helpful manner.
- Provide clear and transparent explanations to customers to enable the building of a better understanding by customers of relevant policy, process, and guidelines.
- Build awareness of seasonal workload requirements and plan accordingly.
- Communicates regularly with the Payroll Team, Payroll Team Leader, and Payroll Manager regarding workload, issues, and concerns.

You will be a motivated, customer-focused individual who can take the initiative, provide excellent administration, and able to work as part of a cohesive team. You’ll thrive in this role with an excellent manner with people, strong attention to detail, and self-management skills. Key requirements:
- Two years payroll experience in a large organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in administrative tasks including accurate data entry and checking.
- Proven experience delivery high quality customer service.
- Ability to work under pressure and within a deadline driven environment.
- Ability to work as part of a cohesive team.
- Competent using Microsoft Word and Excel packages to an intermediate level.
