Department: Riley Pediatric Primary Care
Location:  Downtown Indianapolis

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week: 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM

• Every third Saturday: 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM: weekend shift differential pay

• Some national holidays may be required; holiday shifts include differential pay

Position Summary:

The Registration Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and professional experience for patients from the moment they arrive. This position supports both clinical and administrative functions by:

• Facilitating patient flow from entry to destination in a timely and courteous manner

• Collecting and verifying financial and demographic information to support accurate billing and clinical documentation

• Scheduling appointments and conducting patient interviews to gather necessary medical information

• Explaining hospital and departmental policies, including charges

• Validating and entering charges into appropriate systems

• Answering incoming calls and directing patients and visitors appropriately

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED (required)

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting (preferred)

• Ability to learn and retain medical coding; familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding (preferred)

• Understanding of insurance processes and clinical practices; knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
