JOB TITLE:Associate Director, Performance & Project Management – RTSM
REPORTS TO TITLE: VP, Global Project Management
BUSINESS FUNCTION/ SUB-FUNCTION: Operations – GPM
LOCATION:Remote (may have a geographic area of focus)
FLSA STATUS (exempt or non-exempt): Exempt
ROLE PURPOSE
The Associate Director, Performance & Project Management is responsible for the oversight of a team of Global Project Managers, and customer engagement. This role requires effective charismatic leadership that excels in line management, customer management, problem solving and the ability to motivate a result-oriented team.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (maximum 10)
1. Has customer and product level expertise in order to understand customer contracts, deliverables, business practices and key performance indicators, including employee utilization.
2. Responsible for the implementation of the assigned customers’ specific standards and ensuring that all GPMs working on the projects for that customer understand and deliver to those standards.
3. May be responsible for reporting to assigned customers regarding portfolio performance and adherence to key performance indicators.
4. Accountable for maintaining full team utilization and billability, driving accuracy in the scoping, impact on billable hours within the contract, ensuring the GPMs are fully utilized across the portfolio and are coached and mentored to ensure their success.
5. Ensures that their team maintains the project scope and financial health of their projects and delivers those projects with strong communication and timely delivery.
6. Is the first line of customer escalation and not only addresses issues and risks as they occur but ensures proactivity in identifying risks and building plans to mitigate, share best practices and suggesting process enhancements and updates to customer.
7. Accountable for the financial health of the assigned studies. This can include vendor services, licensing, payments, invoicing, devices, resource assignments, and vendor management activities.
8. Collaborate with other functional areas for study level delivery to support the team to meet customer timelines and expectations.
9. Responsible for identification and documentation of Incident Reports with the Quality Management group, either directly or through collaboration with others. (Inclusive of Client Notification and Closure)
DECISION MAKING AND INFLUENCE
1. As a people manager, the AD, PPM is expected to drive a culture of productivity, process improvement and customer satisfaction.
2. Capable of weighing risks and making decisions that align with Signant values and strategy.
3. Manage customer escalations effectively, with follow-up and closure.
4. Ability to manage the resource allocation of projects to team of direct reports with balance between productivity, efficiency and quality.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Essential (maximum 10):
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent or relevant experience
2. Experience in clinical trials/pharmaceutical industry/life sciences or digital technologies associated with the drug development industry
3. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
4. Understanding of project management principles and how to optimize performance in delivery.
5. Understanding of the software development life cycle and the specification and configuration of software products
6. Able to multi-task and work with multiple team members
7. Must have excellent time management, communication (oral and written), and organizational skills.
8. Must be detail-oriented and have experience using complex data to drive customer account delivery and team performance.
9. Must have solid MS Office Suite experience – Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint
10. Ability and experience in direct project activities and ensuring customer satisfaction while understanding and adhering to the study budget.
Desirable (maximum 5):
1. Ability to travel for business trips (overnight business trips could be expected quarterly)
2. Experience/understanding of the clinical research environment and GCP principles is preferred.
3. PMP or equivalent certificate.
