- Manage, mine and analyze large data sets such as state test results of student achievement. Clearly communicate findings in compelling ways and in clear, easy to understand graphical representation (charts, graphs, etc.) to district-wide audiences, the Board of Education and the general public.
- Develop and present a variety of training sessions for district and school leadership to inform district policies and practices. Provide managers and leaders with increased capacity to analyze data and communicate data with the goal of supporting DPS priorities and decision-making.
- Maintain both the integrity and confidentiality of all data, research and analyses.
- As requested, serve as the primary point of contact for identified focus area(s). As requested, assist the team with other analyses, projects and research efforts.
- Assist district and department leaders in organizing and aligning intended short-, medium-, and long-term goals and indicators of success (e.g., logic models, KPI, and evaluation planning).
- Bachelor's Degree in Data management & analysis or related field is required.
- Master's Degree in Economics, Sociology, Psychology (social, cognitive, education), Mathematics, Education or other related fields is preferred.
- One (1) or more years of experience in research or evaluation in education or other social policy required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Work collaboratively with others on a team.
- High degree of integrity in handling confidential information.
- Aptitude for variety and changing expectations and a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel (including Pivot Tables), Power BI, and R.
- Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines.
- The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance.
- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multicultural environment with district and school leaders, faculty, staff and students.
- Knowledge of program evaluation best practices, including supporting skills (e.g., data analysis, tool development, logic model design, data gathering), preferred..
- Ability to present highly technical program evaluation and/or research processes, data and procedures to non-technical audiences, preferred.
- Experience with data cleaning and validation is a plus.
- Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
