In this HW Engineer position you will work in mechanics design area in close co-operation with product programs as well as with suppliers. Your main tasks include:
- Perform structural FEA for telecommunications products to assure mechanical integrity and reliability.
- Guide mechanical design through structural optimization.
- Create simulation material models from test data.
- Prepare and review reports related to structural simulation.
- Develop new structural simulation methods and workflows.
- Participate in feasibility studies.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolution of issues.
- Contribute to technical documentation.
Must have:
- BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering (or related field with structural mechanics focus).
- Knowledge of FEA software (preferably Ansys) and FEA theory.
- Entry level experience with static/dynamic, nonlinear, and thermomechanical FEA analysis
It would be nice if you also had:
- Understanding of simulating solder joints and using explicit simulations.
- Understanding of strain gauge measurements and mechanical design.
- Familiarity with R&D tools (Creo, Windchill, Enovia, Ansys Mechanical, Ansys Discovery).
Please note that this role is located in Oulu, Finland. We are not offering relocation for this position.
