Android Software Engineer | Garmin Golf Team

We are eager to meet Android engineers who can realize innovative, robust, and creative solutions to complicated development challenges in an end-to-end product development environment.

Your role would be to develop Android applications using Android SDK, Kotlin, ADT, Java core, OOP, following the best practices and using standard development tools.

We are currently looking for engineers to join us for the following project:

Garmin Golf is a comprehensive platform for golfers to improve their game, connect with others, and enjoy a more engaging golfing experience. Users can track scores for rounds, view scorecards, and analyze performance through features like shot maps and strokes gained analysis. 

We believe that collaboration leads to the best ideas, and we rely heavily on team interaction. As a hybrid role based in Cluj-Napoca, this position will require at least 3 days in the office each week.

Responsibilities:

• Create and execute designs for software components within a larger project.
• Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced Software Engineers.
• Collaborate and add value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions.
• Estimate level of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, offer suggestions to improve processes.
• Perform technical root cause analysis and outlines corrective action for given problems.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge on Android components such as Services, Providers, Activities, Fragments, threading, BT/BLE API’s.
• Minimum 5  years of experience in Android development.
• Strong Java/Kotlin and Android Studio knowledge.
• BSc in Computer Science, IT or similar.
• Proficiency in English.

Would be a plus:

• Jetpack Compose experience.
