Risk Reporting / Risk Governance - Associate
The role supports the risk function by analysing and interpreting data to identify triggers, trends and potential risks to help the business make informed decisions.
The Risk Data Analysts will work closely with various departments to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and relevance of risk data and to support the development and implementation of risk management strategies.
The role:
- Collect, clean, analyse and interpret risk-related data from various internal sources.
- Develop and maintain risk databases and data management systems to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Utilise statistical and analytical tools to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in risk data.
- Provide foundational risk aware commentary where required, within analysis / regular local reporting.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of risk data and maintain up-to-date risk databases.
- Directly support and provide data related outputs into risk reporting risk reporting
- Prepare and present professions reports using O365 applications for board presentations and dashboard visualisations (primarily using the PowerBI application)
- Monitor key indicator trends and limits and update risk metrics regularly to track changes in the risk and control environment
- Identify opportunities and support development to improve efficiencies, risk data quality, risk data management processes, and risk analysis methodologies.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, trends, and advancements in risk / data analytics.
The person:
Experience:
- Experience (ideally 3+ years) as a data analyst, risk analyst, or similar role within the financial services industry, or a related sector.
- Knowledge of enterprise risk management (ERM) frameworks and best practices would be beneficial.
Skills:
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
- Experience with data visualisation tools, such as Power BI.
- Strong knowledge of statistical and analytical techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide insights.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, including strong written English.
- Detail-oriented, with a high degree of organisation and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong ability to adapt and be agile when required.
