Role's Responsibility Briefing:
1.Global Design DNA Implementation
2.Design Requirement Definition & Governance
3.Cross-Stakeholder Collaboration
4.Design Iteration & User-Centric Refinement
5.Delivery & Alignment Support
1.Global Design DNA Implementation
- Interpret and implement Ford's global design DNA (including visual language, interaction patterns, motion, and brand guidelines) into HMI design requirements for JV and export programs, ensuring consistency with global standards.
- Develop and refine HMI-specific design specifications, checklists, and guidelines tailored to JV and export projects, aligning global DNA with regional regulatory and user needs.
2.Design Requirement Definition & Governance
- Define detailed UI/UX design requirements for HMI in JV and export programs, covering components such as clusters, infotainment interfaces, and control logic, based on global design DNA.
- Conduct HMI design reviews and sign-offs for JV and export programs to verify compliance with global DNA, brand standards, and functional requirements.
3.Cross-Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with JV teams, IMG Export stakeholders, product managers, and feature owners to align HMI design direction with program goals, user needs, and technical feasibility.
4.Design Iteration & User-Centric Refinement
- Collect user feedback, usability test results, and market insights from JV and export markets to iterate on HMI designs, ensuring they balance global DNA with regional user preferences.
- Update HMI design documentation (e.g., Icon/component libraries, interaction guidelines) for JV and export programs, incorporating learnings from implementation and user feedback.
5.Delivery & Alignment Support
- Support JV and IMG Export teams in the execution of HMI designs, providing guidance on resolving design-implementation gaps while maintaining adherence to global requirements.
- Track HMI design deliverables for JV and export programs to ensure quality compliance, and alignment with program milestones.
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree (Human-Computer Interaction, Automotive Design, or a related field)
No. of Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience in HMI UI/UX design, preferably with a focus on automotive digital products (e.g., in-vehicle infotainment, cluster interfaces)
Professional / Functional Skills:
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and experience translating global brand/design DNA into HMI-specific design solutions for diverse markets.
- Proficiency in HMI design tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD) and prototyping tools (e.g., InVision, Marvel) to create interactive HMI prototypes and design specifications.
- Excellent ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including JV teams, IMG Export partners, product managers, and engineers, to align HMI design with program requirements.
- Familiarity with automotive HMI regulations, industry standards, and user behavior in export markets is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese, with the ability to articulate HMI design rationale and requirements to global and local stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple HMI design projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, ensuring alignment with program timelines.
