  • Hours: Monday- Friday, 37.5 hours per week (9am-5:30pm)
  • Salary: From £26,000 (depending on level of experience)

Job Description

Join our high-performing laboratory team at SGS, where precision, safety, and service excellence drive everything we do. We’re seeking an experienced laboratory analyst to deliver advanced analytical testing for the Oil, Gas and Chemicals sector, ensuring results are accurate, timely, and compliant with ISO 17025 standards.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform and report complex laboratory analyses to international methods (IP, ASTM) using LIMS.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot equipment to guarantee reliable results.
  • Drive continuous improvement in laboratory KPIs, quality, and efficiency.
  • Support UKAS accreditation through rigorous compliance with test procedures and quality systems.
  • Mentor colleagues, help to resolve client queries, and ensure technical excellence at all times.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • HNC/HND or A-Level in Chemistry (or similar scientific discipline).
  • Preferable experience in Oil, Gas & Chemicals or a environmental laboratory.
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025, LIMS, and analytical standards.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Full UK Driving license

Desirable:

  • Degree in Chemistry or related science.
