About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi

The Insight Access team is responsible for the curation, integration, and communication of ACC evidence, data, and insight. We co-develop and produce accessible insight artefacts and products to meet and anticipate strategic and business need. Our aim is to ensure people are connected to the ACC evidence and insight when they need it, how they need it.

As Senior Research Advisor – Insight Access, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of integrated insight and evidence content for ACC’s internal evidence centre - Whetū Mārama, and translation and synthesis of research and data to create accessible, enduring products for the business. You will work collaboratively with subject matter experts across the organisation to provide research leadership specific to the integration, translation and accessibility of insights and data.


You will be an experienced researcher with a proven ability to translate and synthesise diverse technical findings for multiple audiences. You are confident in your research analysis and synthesis skills, with a passion for best practice translation and accessible plain English communication. You have a demonstrable track record of working with stakeholders to transform technical findings in to compelling insight stories that support decision making.

You are a natural collaborator, influencer, and communicator, building strong relationships with key internal stakeholders (including performance, data, research,  and operational teams). Experience or an interest in developing digital research and insight artefacts would be desired.

 You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring ACC has access to robust and enduring research and insight products, enabling evidence-based decision making, and contributing to our mission of keeping New Zealanders safe at work, at home, and everywhere in between.

About you Mōu

You’ll bring 3-5 years of research experience, and a high level of demonstrated experience and skills in integrating and translating research and data for a range of audiences. You have strong storytelling capability, plain English writing expertise and ability to clearly communicate research and data findings through many mediums.

Alongside this you will have:

  • A qualification in a relevant discipline involving research or statistical analysis
  • An ability to use research information to create knowledge through methods such as literature reviews,  synthesis of qualitative research, insight briefs and presentations that are best practice and fit for purpose and audience
  • Understanding  and knowledge of primary research methodologies, including process and small-scale evaluation, statistical analysis of administrative data, and qualitative methods  
  • Strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to synthesise and distil narratives across varied sources of evidence and insights 
  • Experience partnering with key stakeholders to shape and validate integrated research and insight content on key strategic topics 
  • Excellent relationship management skills and proven ability to influence stakeholders from a variety of different backgrounds and disciplines

The base salary range for this role is $101,287 - $131,077 with appointment depending on skills and experience and internal relativities. ACC also offers 9% superannuation on top of base salary
