LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is hiring a Recruitment Specialist in Gainesville, FL! We’re looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and results-focused professional to support staffing needs and help ensure our teams are fully equipped to deliver on our lifesaving mission.

LifeSouth is a non-profit community blood bank serving more than 150 hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. We are committed to meeting the blood supply needs of hospitals and their patients by providing the highest quality blood components and services. With more than 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles and 2,000 blood drives a month, our LifeSouth team is dedicated to making sure the blood is there when you or your family is in need.


What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma required
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • One year of talent recruitment or related experience
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and recruitment processes
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze data to guide decision-making and process improvements
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate hiring needs
  • Clear, professional communication - both written and verbal
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and candidates
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking System
  • Valid driver’s license required; must meet and maintain LifeSouth driver’s eligibility requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage job postings across our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), state job boards, and other relevant platforms, ensuring they are accurate, compliant, and effective. 
  • Monitor and refine job ad performance to continuously improve visibility and candidate engagement.
  • Identify effective recruitment channels for specific roles and regions, working closely with hiring managers to ensure messaging aligns with the role and target audience. 
  • Analyze recruitment data to identify trends, remove bottlenecks, and enhance our hiring process.
  • Create and maintain ATS workflows, templates, and reports to make recruiting faster, smarter, and more consistent.
  • Anticipate hiring needs by reviewing workforce plans, market data, and organizational trends.
  • Train recruiters and hiring managers on ATS best practices.
  • Support the full hiring lifecycle, from reviewing applications to extending conditional offers.
  • Assist with volunteer and intern recruitment and tracking.
  • Coordinate career fairs, open houses, and outreach events to grow our talent pipeline and elevate our brand.
  • Assist General Counsel and the Recruitment Manager with ensuring job descriptions are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant. 
  • Oversee and track our employee referral program.
  • Support onboarding and orientation for new team members.
  • Perform other special projects, as assigned.
