Area VP, Operations, plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and strategic growth across all hotels within the designated Area. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive management of hotel operations directly and indirectly, ensuring alignment with Winning Metrics, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Through effective leadership, collaboration, and innovation, the AVPO ensures the delivery of exceptional guest experiences while maximizing operational efficiency and profitability Additionally, Area VP, Operations provides strategic oversight of the branch office, optimizing the collaboration and IHG culture across functions.

Your Day to Day

•    Provide overall leadership and vision for the Premium and Holiday Inn, EVEN brands under both managed and franchise biz models in your area; understanding what constitutes success for the category, relentlessly focusing on executing the priorities for the market aligned with the overall business agenda.
•    Drive the operational excellence agenda including adoption of all IHG Winning Metrics tools and processes.
•    Drive and seek out opportunities to improve commercial and financial performance, whilst balancing risk. Implement brand and business model relevant strategies to maximize the performance and profitability of the hotels whilst maintaining brand standards and organizational values.
•    Grow and manage trusted relationships with existing and new owners and key stakeholders in the market, demonstrating credibility through the successful operation of existing properties enabling open and honest dialogue and the creation of opportunities for future developments.
•    Take time to attract and develop diverse internal & external pipelines to meet future growth aspirations within area and wider coverage. Reviewing talent management plans, validating internal succession plans for General Managers and supporting the development of high potential talent through programs such as J2GM and RISE, or in-role. Engaging in the GM hiring process in partnership with TA, assessing in line with GM Success Profiles, and delivering an on-brand recruitment experience that builds our reputation in the marketplace.
•    Lead GMs in creating IHG culture where every team member is valued and able to perform at their best through developing and implementing targeted hotel action plans and initiatives to improve Guest Heartbeat and Employee Engagement
•    Oversee the management of the branch office by supervising daily operations to ensure efficiency, enhancing employee engagement, representing IHG in government and community-related matters, and leading the renewal of the branch office’s rental contracts.

What We Need from You 

Experience 
•    In-depth knowledge of hotel operations and multi-unit leadership and Proven track record in driving operational excellence. Demonstrated ability to lead and enhance the operational capabilities of a team.
•    Extensive experience collaborating with sophisticated and institutional owners. And Well Understanding of owner economics and financial drivers.
•    Experience managing national strategic projects is a plus.
