Description

 Reports to the student personnel officer. Responsible for assisting in the administration of the behavioral management system, and preparation of applicable reports and records as required in compliance with government and management directives. 


Job Description:

 

1. Organize office operations and procedures for the efficient flow of work within the student personnel office.

2. Provide clerical support and data input for student personnel officers, including the maintenance of the incentive system awards data and discipline logs using CIS and center systems as required.

3. Operate computer, E-mail, and other office equipment as necessary; maintain calendar and schedule appointments for students, exercising judgment on priorities.

4. Maintain files on department records, cards, forms, and correspondence sent, received, and/or requiring further action; assure necessary confidentiality of information.

5. Provide assistance to students in regard to legal matters.

6. Provide administrative support to the dorm and education peer intervention system.

7. Maintain contact with and act as a liaison between student personnel officers and local law enforcement agencies, courts, attorneys, and center staff as needed

8. Schedule center review board hearings and prepare files for the necessary documentation.

9. Assist in the orientation of students on the behavioral management system, disciplinary procedures, and incentive awards.

10. Support CDSS by implementing and participating in activities and programs as described in the center’s CDSS plan or as assigned.

11. Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.

12. Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff, and other center customers.

13. Participate in student employability programs and activities.

14. Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.

15. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary, and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.

16. Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.· Maintains good housekeeping to include sanitation in all areas and complies with safety practices.

· Adheres to required property control policies and procedures.

· Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Bizzell policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.

· Demonstrates and abides by The Bizzell Group’s core values and operating principles.

· Models, mentors, and monitors appropriate career success skills.

Helps students become more employable through continuous reinforcement.

· Participation in PRH-mandated staff training is mandatory. Failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and one-year related experience required. 

Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. 

Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communications skills, and computer proficiency required. 

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. 

High level of organization, interpersonal, and communication skills.
