OVERVIEW
The Shuttle Driver assists our team of Guest Service Associates to accommodate safe local transportation for our guests. They will also assist guests with storing and retrieving their luggage from the van.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times
- Greet and escort arriving and departing guests to and from their accommodations
- Ensure that all luggage is on board for all passengers
- Only the driver will load/unload luggage from the vehicle
- Repeatedly move luggage or packages weighing at least 50 lbs.
- Transport guest to and from the hotel and local destinations, requesting specific information on each passenger's destinations
- Upon arrival at hotel, refer passengers to Front Desk for registration as driver uploads luggage
- Bring luggage into lobby, bring to room if time permits
- Organize and store luggage, as needed, according to guidelines
- Assist with room moves, special luggage deliveries and/or pulls, and attend the main lobby and front door, as needed
- Assist in the maintenance, appearance, and functionality of equipment
- Maintain vehicle mileage log at beginning and end of each trip indicating mileage, time, name, and date
- Completes daily checks of all vital fluids such as oil, transmission fluid, brake, etc. in the assigned vehicle
- Complete interior cleaning: between each trip; empty all ashtrays, pick up loose debris from floor
- Knowledgeable of all safety and vehicle regulations and emergency procedures and how to act upon them
- Ensure children are seated at all times and are supplied a child safety seat
- Have knowledge of the hotel property, hotel staff, van service area, and hotel services with hours of operation
- Must report all accidents and/or traffic violations immediately
- Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company including, but not limited to those contained in the associate handbook
- Maintain professional image at all times through appearance and dress, including proper uniform as specified by assigned manager
- Follow Company policies and procedures and effectively communicate them to subordinates
- Operate hotel in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws including OSHA, EEOC, wage and hour, and health code laws
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- Must be able to properly represent the company in an informal off-site setting
- Must be able to observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment properly
- Must be able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
- Proficiently speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language; ability to speak other languages in a multicultural work environment can be extremely helpful in facilitating good communication among all hotel team members and guests
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and desire to participate as part of a team
- Able to work in fast paced environment
EXPERIENCE
Previous shuttle driving experience preferred, specifically in the hotel industry.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
A valid driver's license with an acceptable 3-year driving record required under Resolute Road Hospitality Management’s vehicle insurance policy.
Must have the ability to obtain a SLC International Airport Ground Transportation Badge
ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Most work will be performed indoors in moderate temperatures, controlled by hotel environmental systems. May need to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time (5 hours or more). Must be able to bend, kneel, climb ladders, crouch and/or climb into precarious places, and handle heavy and bulky equipment. Finger dexterity to operate tools and equipment as well as office equipment, including but not limited to computer keyboard, multi-touch phone, photocopier among others, required.
Must be able to exert well-paced ability to load and unload the shuttle in a timely manner.
Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception. Talking and hearing continuously in the process of communicating with guests and employees.
Employee may be subjected to moderate to loud noise levels, outdoor weather conditions, work in precarious places, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently, up to 100 pounds occasionally. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing in excess of 300 pounds in the event of an emergency.
OTHER
Shuttle Driver may be required to work varying schedules as dictated by the business needs of the hotel. This includes attendance at all scheduled brand and job specific training sessions and meetings. May require nights, weekends, and holidays.
Consistent attendance in accordance with the standards set forth by Resolute Road Hospitality must be maintained and is an essential element of the success in this role. If the Shuttle Driver is unable to meet these requirements, he/she will be subject to disciplinary action based on franchisee operating policies, up to and including termination of employment.
