Title: People Operations Manager
Reports to: SVP, Legal & People Operations
Status: Exempt/Full-Time
Location: Orlando, FL
As a member of the People Operations Department, the People Operations Manager will conduct him/herself with the highest level of integrity and set the example for employees in all areas including professional behavior, dress, attendance and punctuality and verbal and written communication. The manager will recognize that employees are not only their customers but also the company’s most valuable asset. Each member of the People Operations Department has responsibility for ensuring a safe and productive work environment for Summit Broadband staff. Every decision and action will support the department’s mission of making Summit Broadband a special place to work.
Position Summary:
The People Operations Manager is responsible for maintaining an employee centric culture.
Job Description:
· Assist in developing an employee-centric company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance
· Provide exceptional customer service to internal customers and applicants
· Work closely with leadership to provide guidance on policies and procedures
· Interpret policies and procedures to employees when needed
· Conduct employee relations investigations
· Maintain compliance with federal and state employment laws
· Manage benefits open enrollment companywide annually and for all new hires
· Oversee company performance management system
· Participate in recruiting events
· Assist managers with performance management issues and employee development
· Ensure staff duties are aligned with job description
· Maintain visibility with all employees by spending time in each Florida market
· Address any issues and concerns that are identified in a timely and professional manner
· Assist in drafting and implementation of policies and procedures
· Assist in supporting learning and development initiatives
· Assist in supporting the Company’s payroll functions as needed
· Conduct exit interviews, act as witness in termination meetings, and ensure completion of termination paperwork for all outgoing employees
Job Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources field or business with concentration in Human Resources
· A minimum of five years of progressive experience in human resource position
· PHR or SHRM Certification Preferred
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
· Proven expertise in handling of employee relations, including conducting confidential investigations, writing reports and speaking objectively
· Ability to meet established deadlines, while working with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
· Outstanding conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
· Proficient knowledge of employment laws, employee benefits (including ACA), payroll, and best practices regarding employee engagement
· Experience and proficiency in FMLA
· Proven skills in balancing advocacy for staff, management and the organization
· Willingness and ability to work extended hours as needed to complete tasks timely
· Proficient skills in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
· Detail oriented, organized, able to prioritize. Strong ability to multitask and change priorities
· Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization
· Position is located in Orlando, Florida, however, travel within Florida will be required (up to 20%)
· Must be able to pass criminal background and drug test
· Must have clear driving record
· Experience with Paylocity a plus
