We are the proud facilitators of Girl Scout camp at five Indiana locations, conveners of thousands of Girl Scout programs with nearly 600 community partners and serve thousands more community members each year at our STEM Center of Excellence and Founders Lodge Event and Conference Center.
What You Will Do:
The Event Operations Assistant supports the Director of Event Operations with preparations for upcoming special events in the Founders Lodge Event and Conference Center located at Girl Scouts Camp Dellwood.
How You Will Lead:
- Collaboration with Director of Events for planning purposes.
- Utilize event reservation system to gather event specific details to aid in set up.
- Set up spaces in advance events, this includes but not limited to, table/chair/room set up and related equipment placement.
- Coordinate and support arrival and placement of rental equipment should event warrant.
- Provide light housekeeping and maintenance associated with events.
- Seek and accept opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Ensure that diversity and pluralism is embraced and incorporated into the daily work of the position.
- Other duties as assigned.

How You Will Succeed:
*The Special Events Assistant employee is required to have an active role in the council's fund development and membership efforts, as set forth by the supervisor.
* In addition, as an employee, the Special Events Assistant employee is a representative of GSCI, and people form their impressions of the council, in part, based on their interaction with the employee. Every personal contact is with a current or potential donor or member of the council, and, thus, these impressions can influence their actions.
* Employees will also play a more active role in fund development and membership by identifying potential new donors and volunteers.

Requirements
What We Are Looking For:
- High school diploma required.
- Physical ability to do manual labor.
- Ability to work occasionally weekends and evenings.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in an active and mobile work environment with physical demands.
- Ability to coordinate, prioritize and manage time to meet deadlines by working independently.
- Currently valid drivers’ license and insurance.
- Must hold membership in the Girl Scout organization and subscribe to the tenets of the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
- Must successfully complete a criminal history background check.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
· Ability to stand on feet for an extended period.
· Ability to lift to 40 pounds.
