Overview: 

Premier America Credit Union is seeking an Accounting Generalist I will, under supervision, provide support to comply with the policies and procedures of the Credit Union in maintaining all Accounting processes.


What You Will Do:

  • Apply meticulous attention to detail within accounting functions including but not limited to processing incoming and outgoing wires, cash orders, JV creation, adjustments, deposited returned items, various research requests, stop payments, filing, record retention and other similar duties.
  • Assume primary responsibility for two (2) or more of the following major functions under supervision: provide support to the primary daily processes and regulatory requirements of Accounting Services, Wire Transfers, Corporate Checks, General Ledger Accounts, Accounts Payable. 
  • Consistently demonstrate strong time management skills while prioritizing tasks under strict deadlines.
  • Support the preparation, posting and maintenance of General Ledger entries as assigned according to required frequency.
  • Complete General Ledger Reconciliation of GL accounts as established by management.
  • Assist in first-line review of daily work, as may be assigned.
  • Serve as back-up for selected processes in the absence of the Accounting Generalist II.
  • Work to gain and maintain knowledge of applicable accounting principles, internal controls, and regulations applicable to the position’s area of responsibility. Regulations include but are not limited to Regulation CC, Regulation J, Regulation E, Regulation D, OFAC, and Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Support other credit union organizational units and other departments in the Finance division.
  • Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
  • Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Premier America staff.


Requirements

What We Are Looking For: 

  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience, of which at least two (2) years is related to Accounting.
  • High school diploma required, Accounting or Finance college level courses or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic Accounting concepts of debits and credits.
  • Familiarity with all transaction processing, check operations and fun transfers.
  • PC skills: proficient in MS Office suite – advanced Excel skills.
  • Proficient with 10-key calculator
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, working in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Grade Info:

To provide greater transparency for candidates, we share base pay ranges for all our job postings regardless of State. We set standard pay ranges for all roles based on function and level of expertise, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies.  Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The base pay range for this position is: $23-$29/hourly.
