Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Aroostook Mental Health Center (AMHC) is seeking an experienced, mission-driven Chief Operations Officer (COO) to provide visionary leadership and strategic oversight across all operational facets of the organization. The COO plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and integrity of AMHC’s service delivery systems while aligning operational objectives with our mission and values.

As COO, you’ll work closely with our CEO and senior leadership team to ensure that every part of our operation aligns with our values, meets high standards of care, and drives innovation across the agency. WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As a key member of our Executive Team, you’ll:

• Lead and strengthen systems that support outstanding service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor performance, analyze data, and guide improvements across all operational areas.
• Oversee compliance with state, federal, and payer regulations.
• Support the development and optimization of our electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Provide leadership to our Quality Department and ensure continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team on key decisions about people, programs, and performance.
• Facilitate open communication through weekly senior team meetings and site visits.
• Serve as Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Privacy Officer, and represent AMHC in board meetings and public forums.
• Step in as acting CEO when needed and participate in on-call leadership rotation.

• Experience working with data and EHR systems to support performance and decision-making.

Requirements

• A graduate degree in a behavioral health-related field is required.
• Must have 7 years of relevant experience, of which at least 2 years must have been in program development and supervision.
