Job Title: Outdoor Operations Associate
Department: Ski & Snowboard School

Status: Seasonal FT & PT

Reporting To: Ski & Snowboard School Senior Manager


Position Overview:


The Powder Mountain Ski & Snowboard School is seeking hard-working, detail-oriented Outdoor Operations Associates to support the daily setup and takedown of fencing, signage, and on-hill animations in and around our learning areas. This hands-on role is essential to creating a safe, fun, and professional environment for our guests and instructors. Outdoor Operations Associates work outdoors in all weather conditions, follow direction from the Operations Supervisor, and play a key part in delivering a seamless and high-quality guest experience on snow.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team to install and remove ski and snowboard school fencing in the Sun Tunnel learning area, Sundown base, and beginner terrain such as Confidence and Slingshot Alley.
  • Set up and maintain on-hill signage and animations that support a safe, engaging, and professional learning environment.
  • Ensure fencing, signs, and animations are installed securely, safely, and to a consistent standard of quality.
  • Follow daily directions from the Operations Supervisor and adjust tasks based on changing mountain conditions and guest needs.
  • Assist with ski school logistics such as lunch pickup for kids’ lessons and delivery of equipment or supplies.
  • Proactively identify and report any issues with fencing, signage, or terrain hazards to the Operations Supervisor or appropriate department.
  • Communicate clearly with teammates, instructors, and school leadership to support smooth operations throughout the day.
  • Support setup and takedown of on-mountain programming, events, or special activities as needed.
  • Uphold Powder Mountain’s standards for guest experience, safety, and visual presentation at all times.
  • Work efficiently in winter mountain conditions and be prepared for physical, outdoor labor in snow and variable weather.

Requirements and/or Qualifications:

Physical Requirements- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to:

  • Full range of body movements
  • Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (40+lbs)
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting
  • Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain
  • Climb/descend stairs/ladders
  • Manual dexterity to operate manual tools and power equipment on a constant basis
  • Safely handle hazardous materials


Working Environment:


Must be able to work outdoors in extreme conditions for extended periods of time.
