Description
SUMMARY OF JOB:
Oversee all accounting functions such as general ledger, financial statements, accounts payable, investment accounting, fixed asset accounting and payroll. Assumes full responsibility of the accounting and finance department, overseeing staff and administrative duties and ensuring that US GAAP, regulations, and procedures are followed at all times. Responsible for scaling accounting and finance to fit the Company’s strategic goals and/or changing requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
- Recruit, manage, and oversee accounting and finance department.
- Partner with CFO to determine proper accounting and tax implications for all material business decisions.
- Oversee all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.; including internal and regulatory, and public reports.
- Oversee the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, establish accruals and significant accounting estimates, including the allowance for credit losses.
- Designs financial controls over financial reporting and ensures compliance. Takes lead in both internal and external audits. Assists internal auditor with preparation of annual risk assessment.
- Manage external audit, internal accounting/FDICIA audit, and tax firms.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and yearly budgets and forecasts
- Assist the CFO with the oversight of all Asset Liability Management functions; including maintaining policies, reviewing the ALM model, management of the investment portfolio and monitoring liquidity.
- Manage the Company’s professional risk, property and casualty, and worker’s compensation policies and claims.
- Assist CFO with investor relations, including review of investor presentations, posting required documents on the OTCQX, preparation of the annual proxy and organizing the annual shareholder meeting and other investor communications.
- Assist CFO with oversight of Restricted Stock plan, including accounting, stock issuance, and stock vesting.
- Manage semi-monthly payroll and payroll taxes. Maintains accruals for incentive plan expected payments.
- Maintain current knowledge and follow all US GAAP, bank financial, compliance, security regulations and procedures.

Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Work Experience: 10+ years of experience in a senior accounting position
Supervisory Experience: 5+ years of management experience
Licenses/Accreditations: CPA Certification
Computer Skills: Highly skilled in Microsoft Suite; proficient in complex accounting systems
Other Requirements: Advanced knowledge of professional accounting software. Extensive business experience and strategic knowledge. Highly skilled in budgeting and bookkeeping. Excellent financial and analytical abilities. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail. Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Master’s in Accounting
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer Service: Strong emphasis on excellent customer service skills; ability to work effectively with both internal and external contacts. Maintains confidentiality in handling customer and bank information.
Financial: Engage in ongoing cost reduction in all areas of the business. Calculate budget variances and report significant issues to senior leadership. Provide financial analyses as needed, for due diligence requests, contract negotiations, and pricing decisions.
Administrative Duties: N/A
Autonomy: Ability to delegate tasks and responsibilities to others, as well as analyze and interpret data to formulate sound business decisions.

The applicant who is selected for this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
- Targeted hiring range based on experience: $150,000 - $200,000 yearly. This range is an estimate based on potential employee qualifications and other considerations permitted by law under the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules.
- Bonus Eligibility: Annual bonus based on Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company Discretion.
