Life Enrichment Assistant - Part Time

Description

The Life Enrichment Assistant at Pine Haven Christian Home assists with creating, organizing, and implementing activities for residents according to resident needs, interests, and abilities. We are currently looking for someone to work 43 hours per pay period (in a 2 week timeframe.) The scheduled hours are from 9:00am-4:00pm and will include an every other Saturday rotation. 

Requirements

• Assist in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating life enrichment programs and activities
• Lead large groups, small groups, and one-on-one activates throughout the day
• Engage with residents in a manner that promotes their independence and maintains their dignity
• Collaborate with staff, families, residents and volunteers to foster an environment that is resident-centered
• Create a positive atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and fun
• Follow established life enrichment calendars
• Manage supplies and request supplies when needed
• Provide emotional support and encouragement  Actively engage residents through conversation and companionship
• Encourage socialization and participation in activities
• Transport or escort residents to activities
• Maintain attendance, activity participation logs and other documents as required
• Utilize job specific technology appropriately
• Maintain a clean, safe environment
• Assist with the training of new staff members when requested
• Follow infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures to ensure that a sanitary environment is always maintained
• Attend and participate in required training, conducted at time of hire and/or annually, that will include training designed to assure resident safety:  i.e. fire safety, missing resident, evacuations, disaster response, etc.
• Report any observed changes in a resident’s needs and/or condition immediately to a license nurse or manager as appropriate
• All other duties as assigned
