Who We Are:

SignalFire Wireless Telemetry, at TASI Measurement company, based in Marlborough, Massachusetts, specializes in designing and manufacturing wireless telemetry products for industrial applications, particularly in sectors like oil and gas, agriculture, and utilities. Their solutions facilitate long-distance, outdoor wireless communication, enabling reliable and cost-effective measurements without the use of wires.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Cloud Developer with a solid understanding of both front-end and back-end technology stacks. This role involves developing a user interface to visualize and interact with data from our Internet of Things (IoT) product line. SignalFire has developed an industrial remote monitoring and control device that brings various sensor measurements to the cloud using LTE-M cellular technology. Our cloud platform allows customers to see their data, view historical trends, receive SMS or email alarms, and configure remote devices. This position focuses on developing the customer-facing web interface based on Ignition from Inductive Automation.

As a Cloud Developer at SignalFire, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our SignalFire Cloud service. This role demands a candidate with excellent communication and technical skills, capable of implementing new features, visualizations, reports, and UI elements. You will collaborate closely with other engineers and the sales team to understand and fulfill customer requirements, ensuring our product exceeds expectations.

Key Responsibilities & Position Requirements:

You will be working collaboratively across functional peers to:

  • Develop and enhance the SignalFire Cloud service with new features and functionalities.
  • Work closely with engineers and the sales team to understand and implement customer requirements.
  • Steer development and implement changes rapidly to deliver a superior product.
  • Develop user-configurable dashboards for data visualizations and optimize views and scripts for performance.
  • Ensure seamless functionality of features by collaborating with QA teams.
  • Design and optimize UI for both desktop and mobile browsers.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the SignalFire Cloud service, including database management, alarming, data visualization, identity management, REST API, MQTT Broker, AWS services, and development environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proven UI/UX design experience with the ability to develop simple, user-friendly interfaces.
  • Strong proficiency in Python.
  • Experience with MQTT, Ignition from Inductive Automation, or other SCADA systems is a significant advantage.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of embedded Python runtimes and Java is a plus.
  • Proficient in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Document Object Model (DOM).
  • Comfortable working with hardware and developing user interfaces for sensor data from SignalFire devices.
  • Experience with data serialization using JSON.
  • Familiarity with web frameworks such as jQuery, React, Electron, Angular, and Flask is beneficial.
  • Understanding of version control systems (git) and JIRA.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to identify risk and implement solutions and communicate changes at various levels of the company
  • Strong sense of curiosity and willingness to continuously learn and develop
  • Problem-solver with solution-oriented mindset and ability to adapt quickly to changes
  • Ability to take constructive feedback and to improve

Working Conditions

  • Physical Demands: Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Able to lift and carry up to 20lbs, bend, reach, squat to set up and break down event equipment.
  • Visual Demands: Must be able to look at a computer monitor for extended periods.
  • Manufacturing Environment: Must be able to work in a manufacturing company, which may involve exposure to machinery, noise, and other industrial conditions.
