The Media Producer plays a key leadership role in shaping and delivering innovative, cohesive media solutions across physical and digital environments. With a background in media production and post-production, this role requires a strong focus on high-end motion, VFX, and interactive storytelling.  This role demands a deep understanding of production pipelines and requires collaborating within 3D and game engine workflows to build immersive worlds.

As part of the Media Production discipline, the Media Producer collaborates closely with the Creative Technology and Visual Experience Design teams. Reporting to the Director of Media and working closely with project Creative Directors, this leader helps support the creative vision, ensuring technical and creative alignment across teams. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in multidisciplinary environments.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel within the US and globally for project installations, client meetings, new business pitches, etc.
  • Must be able to work on-site in our NYC Studio - Hybrid
  • Primary residence is in one of these states: NY/NJ/CT/DC/VA/MD
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities:

Creative and Technical Management 

  • Producing media projects with in-house teams and managing pipelines of work – focusing on motion design pipelines of work (2D and 3D design and animation). 
  • Managing various program types, ranging from linear media to interactive installations and large-scale exhibition media and/or software programs.
  • Planning and creating production workflow schedules from concept design development to delivery and install.
  • Managing key partners and phases of work, including audio and/or live-action production.
  • Coordinating collaboration across multidisciplinary teams - Visual Experience Design (Graphic Production), Physical Design (Architecture and Exhibit design), Content (Research, Strategy and Writing), and Software (Custom interactive development and production); often in concert with a Project Director/Manager and/or Coordinator.
  • Vetting vendor partners as needed, negotiating and managing those relationships and the work product.

Project Management

  • Planning and maintaining accurate and highly detailed budgets and related schedules
  • Build and manage resource plans.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Media to manage artist freelancer needs, holds, and bookings, and with LP HR.
  • Anticipating issues and proactively communicating them to supervisors or department heads.
  • Providing answers to clients' technical queries or liaising with creative or technical staff as appropriate to provide requested information.
  • Monitoring and reviewing project demands on creative artists and ensuring that they have sufficient support staff and resources for each project.
  • Advising clients and other stakeholders on design development, process, motion design, and post-production techniques and shooting requirements.

Skills/Abilities: 

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Exemplary time/project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize conflicting tasks 
  • Working knowledge or awareness of UX and interaction design 
  • Proficient in managing the workflow of 2D, CG, and VFX pipelines of work, and software/engine-based programs
  • Understanding of standard and large file formats and resolutions, and managing and tracking high volumes of deliverables
  • Adaptability and the ability to lead multiple media programs and/or projects in a collaborative environment

Experience:

  • Over 7 years’ experience leading 2D/CG animation, visual effects, editing, post-production, audio, and live-action teams — or proven excellence as a media motion/post producer.
  • Experienced in structuring and holding working sessions and presentations
  • Understanding of and experience in producing design systems for digital and built environments 

Bonus Points

  • Experience with project organization software: 10,000FT, Smartsheet, Airtable, Keynote, FrameIO, and LucidLink
  • Experience or understanding of interactive software: Rive, Unreal, and/or Unity workflow

Hourly Rate

$75 - $100 per hour commensurate with experience.
