In this role, you'll:

 

Join the Business Case Centre of Excellence team in the Infrastructure Projects and Engineering (IPE), a high performing team providing business case development services to some of the State’s most complex, impactful, and largest projects.

 

Reporting to the Head of the Business Case Centre of Excellence and supported by a team of Senior Managers, you will provide strategic advice and expertise in economics and transport modelling to inform the development and delivery of transport projects. Your role will bring strategic input into investment decision-making processes to ensure benefits realisation across Transport for NSW, and provides strategic forecasts and advice based on the utilisation of various land-use, operational and strategic models.

 

This is an opportunity to drive innovation in creating an environment of successful business case development that facilitates alignment to key strategic initiatives, Transport agency investment frameworks and delivers value for money outcomes for NSW.

 

This is a full-time Ongoing (Perm) Transport Senior Service Executive TSSE1A level role, offering an attractive remuneration package.

About you 

 

  • You have extensive experience in economics and transport modelling within a large, complex environment preferably with prior coverage across program typically at multi-million/billion-dollar level.
  • You are a practitioner with expertise in cost benefit analysis preferably for NSW State Government or other Government agencies.
  • You are an enabler and influencer possessing a good level of commercial acumen with proven ability to independently lead business improvement initiatives within the framework of large complex programs.
  • You are a thought leader with creative ideas on how to improve the effectiveness of transport modelling in development.
  • You are focused on managing effective traffic and demand modelling engagements, whilst managing conflicting priorities of time, cost and quality with project team stakeholders.
  • You will have the demonstrated capability to ensure ongoing refinement of economic and benefits realisation policy, strategy and planning in response to changing circumstances; and driving the consistent adoption of frameworks and guidelines in transport modelling, economics and benefits; and integrating data analytics with large data from transport models.
  • You will have some experience developing innovative strategies during project development and investment assurance activities, to support optimal solutions for clients and communities.
  • You understand the balance of addressing customer requirements whilst adhering to other regulatory, policy, government and operational conditions.
  • You have strong stakeholder management skills with experience in leading a function within a high reliability / high risk working environment, a large and complex industrial and/or public sector organisation.
  • Adaptable in nature, you lead by example with the ability to drive change and to motivate team members towards achieving business objectives.
  • As a good problem solver, with progressive and forward-thinking attitude, you have the ability to work in a matrix-style reporting environment where it is essential to have a good understanding of customer orientation and the operational demands that come with service delivery.
