In the pursuit of our mission, we are hiring a we are hiring an ASL Interpreter. This role serves as an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter. This position provides essential support to Special Education teachers, focused on providing services to much deserving individual students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree, 60 completed college credits or Proof of passing the ETS Paraprofessional Exam
  • Successful completed the EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment)
  • Valid Michigan interpreter certification card

Qualifications - Experience

  • A track record of success working with students with special education needs (especially HI students)
  • A track record of perfect attendance and punctuality
  • Previous training in CPI, blood borne diseases, Epi-pen and Diastat
  • Previous experience working with students from diverse backgrounds that are different from your own

Sample Job Responsibilities

  • Assist HI designated students with daily tasks, ensuring a safe and enjoyable school day
  • Assist teachers in Gardner with facilitating and maintaining a safe and productive classroom environment
  • Log updates in the student data system
  • Other tasks as needed to ensure the safety of students at Gardner
