Position SummaryThe Procurement Manager supports efficient purchasing operations and excellent customer service across the district. This role manages procurement documentation, vendor coordination, and internal alignment to ensure timely, compliant purchasing processes. The position directly supports the Director of Procurement and plays a key role in ensuring financial and procedural accountability.
Salary Range: $50,400 - $78,735

Performance EvaluationThe employee will be evaluated based on the above position using either two methods: via COMPASS or a NOLA-PS evaluating instrument. If the employee holds an Educational Leadership certification, he/she will be evaluated via COMPASS to ensure renewal of certification.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage routing and documentation of Procurement Authorization Forms and ensure appropriate signatures before final approvals;
- Maintain organized procurement records including requisitions, POs, bids, quotes, and contracts;
- Solicit competitive quotes; prepare quote summaries; communicate results to departments;
- Coordinate with vendors and departments for purchases, meetings, and bid openings;
- Support training, procurement compliance monitoring, and vendor relations;
- Draft contracts/amendments for small professional services and public works projects;
- Prepare procurement reports, presentations, and Board agenda items;
- Monitor requisition and PO status; ensure timely issue resolution;
- Maintain accurate vendor database and assist with ERP/procurement system usage;
- Provide onboarding and procurement training to new staff;
- Maintain audit-ready procurement files;
- Order and track supplies for Procurement;
- Participate in process improvement and cross-departmental initiatives;
- Performs other related duties as required.
Supervisor ResponsibilityThis position does not have direct reports.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field plus two years of progressively responsible experience in the purchasing or procurement areas of a large public or private agency, preferably in education. Experience may be substituted for education on a year-to-year basis;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers;
- Basic Knowledge of procurement principles and practices;
- Attention to detail and data accuracy; Self-starter;
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook); Excellent skills in operating procurement or ERP systems;
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service;
