About the role
Leading a team, the Clinical Research Manager develops and oversees the implementation and management of Macquarie University’s clinical research governance and regulatory requirements and supports the integration of clinical research into standard clinical services in Macquarie University Health (MU Health).
You will be responsible for ensuring that clinical research projects are evaluated, meet quality standards and ethical requirements, and are consistent with industry best practice and University policies. Working closely with senior research leadership in MU Health and the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences, the role takes management responsibilities for delivering clinical research strategies and initiatives.
About You
You are currently in a relevant research management position that has provided you with an in-depth knowledge of the Australian higher education environment. You have a postgraduate degree and extensive experience in medical sciences, health sciences and/or clinical trials. You are known for your senior stakeholder management and strong leadership skills. You have sound judgement and are a strategic thinker.

Postgraduate degree and extensive relevant experience in medical sciences, health sciences, clinical trials or significant relevant knowledge and experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of clinical research workflows including clinical research governance and ethics, clinical registries and biobanks, and clinical trials.
Proven leadership skills managing a team in a professional environment to meet specified outcomes, quality expectations, and time frames, while anticipating problems, developing contingencies, and negotiating solutions.
Demonstrated experience in strategic decision making, including development of business cases and other executive documentation to support decisions.
Developing and implementing clinical research governance policies, standards and/or frameworks with a commitment to continuing development of best practice.
