Job description:
Purpose
Manage Software development or IT projects following best practice project management methodologies such as Agile Scrum, Waterfall or Hybrid, while actively engaging with business stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Drive business engagement initiatives to maximize business value and facilitate organizational change management.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
- Collaborate with sponsors to align projects with business objectives and value. Advise on delivery options, costs, and benefits.
- Serve as Scrum Master and facilitate IT-business collaboration.
- Support business case development, including ROI and satisfaction metrics.
- Define roles, responsibilities, and engagement protocols.
- Create structured plans with milestones and communication points.
- Track performance and stakeholder engagement; take corrective action as needed.
- Incorporate business input into change management processes.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for delivery teams.
- Align project scope with business goals through impact and gap analysis.
Business Engagement & Stakeholder Management
- Engage business leaders and end-users across project and product lifecycles.
- Facilitate workshops and reviews for requirements and solution validation.
- Create engagement plans detailing key contacts and communication cadence.
- Bridge communication between technical teams and business units.
- Conduct impact assessments and drive change management strategies.
- Lead user training, adoption efforts, and post-implementation support.
- Elicit, document, and manage functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Use process modelling and user stories to clarify needs and drive design.
Risk & Quality Management
- Assess project risks with business input, considering continuity and operations.
- Manage mitigation actions with ongoing stakeholder communication.
- Oversee change processes and ensure approvals.
- Ensure deliverables meet business acceptance criteria.
- Champion the change vision across business operations.
- Validate solutions against business needs and quality benchmarks.
Process Improvement & Communication
- Apply best practices in business engagement and delivery.
- Stay updated on emerging delivery and engagement techniques.
- Communicate progress to stakeholders and business units.
- Promote customer-focused, collaborative problem-solving.
- Resolve team and stakeholder conflicts effectively.
- Identify and recommend improvements through process mapping and root cause analysis.
- Leverage insights from business data to inform continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, data science etc.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant project management experience with demonstrated business engagement capabilities
- Experience managing software development projects or IT projects with significant business stakeholder involvement
- Experience with Microsoft PowerApps, .NET platform, and Azure DevOps
- Relevant Project Management certifications i.e. Scrum Master, PMP, Prince 2 certifications etc
- Experience in change management or business transformation initiatives preferred
- Member of ICTAZ or EIZ
